Cannot access iTunes Essentials on iPad

Using my iPad I can access and buy music from all sections of the iTunes Store other than iTunes Essentials. If I go into Essentials and choose Artists or Genres & History or My Grooves I get the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". I don't have this issue on my iMac. I have this problem if using wi-fi or 3G. Anyone else have this problem? Any assistance appreciated. Cheers.
