Connecting Extended Express to Ethernet Spliter

Hello:

Here is my setting: I have extreme base station (in the basement) and I have extended my wireless network with express, which is located in second floor. So if I want to connect to my sony bravia Tv I can able to connect my TV to network by connecting ehternet cable from /to express. Now I need to connect sony blu-ray player so I taught If i can use ethernet splitter ($2 , ebay barand) to my express (which is wirelessly extended)and connect both TV and blu-ray player at the same time. I tried but I can't able to connect any one of them. If I don't use spliter then it works fine. I can't able to splt signal to TV and blu-ray. Is it possible? If yes, then how do I make my network work in TV an blu-ray at the same time using ehternet splitter?

Thanks!!
