How To Sync Multiple Apple i Devices To One PC?

I have a pc and an Apple iPhone 3G. I have recently purchased an iPad 2 that I will hopefully get within the next few days.

At the moment my iPhone connects to iTunes (latest version) on my laptop (running windows 7). All the apps, music, videos, ringtones etc are synced each time. Calendars, contacts etc are synced using mobile me.

When I get my iPad 2 I want to use my current apple account to pay for apps, and be able to backup and sync the device to my laptop. However I want my iPad and iPhone to have their own apps, music lists etc. I don't want them to mirror each other. If this makes sense is this possible, if so how?

iPad 2, Windows 7

Just plug the second device in. It will be treated as a separate device and you can choose what content to sync to it in exactly the same way as you do with the first device.
