Automator can't open an app it created

I created an Automator app that has worked fine for many months. Today I tried to modify it, and found that Automator was unable to open it. The app file is named "Leave Home.app". When I try to open it, Automator pops up a dialog box that says "Opening Leave Home", my mouse cursor changes to the spinning wheel of death, and that's it. I have to Force Quit Automator. This is repeatable. I'd be happy to supply a developer with a copy of "Leave Home.app" to debug this.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Were you trying to open it using the open file dialogue in Automator? If so, try finding your application leave home.app and dragging it onto the Automator icon. This should allow you to see the application as a workflow and edit it accordingly.

Glad you got that sorted out. I'm not sure why it did not work when you tried it before. I have kinda gotten in the habit of saving two copies of everything I build one as an app, plugin, or whatever and one and the final workflow. Saved in workflow format it is easy to go back and make changes.

Yes, I was using the open file dialog in Automator.

For some reason, the problem no longer occurs. I will remember your suggestion in case it crops up again.
