Sim card activation

Hello. i just bought an iphone the other day, and when i went home to put my new sim card in, and activate it with itunes i chose to restore the iphone from a backup instead of activate it as a new phone, so my sim card didn't activate at all but the phone works fine, but i just have, no service because of the sim card not activated. i tried using apples launch command with StoreActivationMode 1 but it says it's already activated, which it is NOT. heeeelp 😟

Is the phone new? If it is, why didn't you just use the new SIM in the phone? Where are you located, and who is your carrier? Are you using an activated SIM from a different phone? If so it's possible that the account is not provisioned for an iPhone. The best thing to do is get a new SIM from your carrier and activate the phone with it. Another possibility (especially inf the phone is not new) is that the phone is locked to a different carrier.
