G4 ibook video problem

Hi,

Every time i turn on my ibook i get a dark screen that looks like it has water damage and then it fades to white and then switches to all sorts of crazy colours. The ibook chimes and works normally other than the video (ext video untested). The sequence of the crazy colours is the same every time.

The video DOES NOT change if i tap or press on the video chip OR the controller chip on the bottom side of the logic board (of which i've already re soldered - made no diffierence).

Anyone have any ideas??? i tried reset the pram.
