Question

Anybody have experience in troubleshooting laserwriter pro 630?

My printer just started to print a full width page on 1/2 half of the page. It prints normally in the vertical direction. Need help to fix the problem.

I think there are postscript commands that can do that. If you accidentally sent it a bogus command, it may be struck in that mode. But don't panic yet. Cycle the power (leaving it off for a few minutes). If it is still happening when you power it up again, THEN you should start worrying.

Your my hero. I had earlier restarted the printer right after turning it off and still had the problem. After having it off for several hours while I was out, I restarted and the startup page came our normal. You will probably be pleased to know that a to be paid after solving the problem tech on "just answer.com" gave up. Another knowledgable person on another tech site also gave up. Since the printer has been working well for 17 years, I hope to get another 5 or 10 year before a good printers become cheaper than the Laserwriter's cartridge cost.
