My iPod Nano 3g doesn't show up on finder or itunes

Hey guys, as you can see from the title, my iPod Nano 3g (the square one) doesn't show up on my Mac at all. It doesn't show up on the desktop or on iTunes, but it shows on when I click "About My Mac" and "More Info." I've tried reinstalling iTunes, along with deleting the Applemobiledevice folder and the corresponding kext. Oh and the Os is OSX 10.6.7. Thanks for the help 🙂

Yes, it doesn't show up on either. Oh and something else I found, my iPad connects perfectly with iTunes, just not my iPod nano 😟

I recently experienced the problem where the iPod Nano 3g does not open in iTunes12 or is not recognized in iTunes 12. I tried all the resetting advice, but the problem was only resolved by changing the USB cable. I have several off brand iPod USB cables and one Apple Brand cable...it worked with the Apple branded cable.
