Jailbreaking violates the software license agreement, voids the warranty and gets no support form Apple or this forum.

Also, while jailbreaking may unlock some "nifty" features, it causes the device to be very unstable and unsecure, not a good idea.

If you instal an App that requires the iPod to be jailbroken, you have no idea what that App will do. Apple effectively check Apps in the store for any behaviour that may affect the performance of your iPod or steal your information. In short - no viruses. People have cited Android as superior to iPod because of the ease with which Apps can be submitted compared to Apple. But how many Andriod Apps had to be removed due to a virus? (I believe the first cull was around 50 or 60!)
