The "Apple ID" on my ipod touch does not match the "Apple ID" on my itunes account. When I sync the ipod it does not change the ID. This problem does not allow me to obtain Apps because the two ID's do not match.
One day while purchasing Apps Apple suggested that I change my ID to my email address and this started the whole mess.I cannot find any info on changing the ID on my touch.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the post but I already checked the user guide and it did not provide the help I need. Syncing the ipod does not help and I can not find any options either on the ipod or on itunes for changing the "Apple ID" on the touch.
From page 169 of the users guide:

Thanks for the suggestion roam... Tried to re-log in with the old ID and it is no longer valid, I only have the one ID on itunes now and it doesn"t like the ID that's in my ipod.
Hey roam... Thank's for your help, I re-investigated your input and it was the right info. Initially I had my head you know where and was trying to fix things via itunes from my computer. The answer was right there in the ipod the whole time.
