iCal syncs between mobileme and iphone and ipad but not on my Mac. Help?

Since subscribing to Mobile.me after being convinced it would seamless allow information to be shared across all devices, I have had no end of trouble.

The latest is that events entered or amended on the iphone 4 will sync with Mobile.me and with the ipad but not with iCal on the computer.

How hard can it be?

Help! I waste hours everyday checking all my events are appearing on all devices and manually changing each device.

Anyone else experiencing problems?

I am thinking it might be better to get rid of Mobile.me and see if there is another way of all devices talking to one another.

It should have worked under that system. Do you have calendars listed under your MobileMe login name in the sidebar of iCal? if not, go to iCal Preferences>Accounts and see if your MobileMe account is listed there. If it isn't, see this page (don't worry about the fact that it's for Leopard) and follow the numbered steps at the bottom of the page:

Only these calendars will 'sync' with MobileMe (in fact they are on MobileMe): 'On My Mac' calendars won't sync.

If you enter an event into one of these MobileMe calendars, when you have completed entering it do you see the rotating sync icon at the top of the sidebar (appears only for a brief time)? Does the event appear when you go to http://me.com/calendar?

If you enter an event at http://me.com/calendar does it appear in iCal (may take a few minutes)?

I understand that if you add an event on either mobile device it does appear at http://me.com?

After some discussions with mobile me chat support I have a elegant solution to the problem, to recap my problem was that mobile me ical was updating my iphone and ipad but not my macair or imac. To complicate the issue I also share some ical diaries with others who have add and update rights. The solution was on my imac to go to ical>preferences and delete the MobileMe account. Once deleted add the MobileMe account and all should be working correctly. I did find that you can not use the 1 minute update timer, with that set nothing happened, I am not sure why but suspect it could be some thing to do with my internet connection or clock, I did notice that with 5 minutes set it seems to actually be about 6 or 7 minutes for a new event to feed through to all locations. I have tested all my systems and some of the other users and all works as it should 🙂
