I was wondering if anyone knows how to extend the time span of the User history report in ARD 3.4? I currently get about 30 days worth of history data but would ideally like to get 5-6 months of data in the report. My guess is that ARD reads a log file which is flushed regularly but that's just a hunch... I can't find anything in the ARD manual.
Can anyone help? Thanks!
You are correct. ARD pulls the login information from the UNIX login record data. The data will only remain around until the system flushes it.
Hmmm... So I guess it's checking the /var/log/wtmp file which is rotated in the monthly script. But it feels kind of lame that you can only get user data for the last 30 days. Does anyone have a simple idea on how to extend that?
