ipad 1st gen external cam?

nothing official or even specific to being a camera.

however if you have an Iphone 4 there are several apps that will wirelessly connect the camera on that to the ipad and allow you to stream video and also take remote photos direct from your ipad.

i used opne for several months before i got my ipad2 so i can vouch for them working reasonably well!

The new Missin Impssible movie uses an ipad with an external camera on a flex shaft. It also looks like a 1st generation ipad. With the hi tech gadgetry that Mission Impossible is know for HOW CAN APPLE NOT REALIZE THAT AN EXTERNAL CAMERA IS SOMETHING PEOPLE WANT?

No, there is no external camera for iPad 1. If you need a camera, sell the iPad 1 and use the proceeds to buy an iPad 2.

There is always a newer version of any product just around the corner. However, Apple's product cycle period has been very easy to predict for the past 4 years or so. New models of each iOS device have been released every 12 months.

well dont think that. my mate sold his Ipad 1 the day before he got his Ipad 2 and he still got £300 for it! thats AFTER the ipad 1 price drop to £330! LOL!

somebody WILL give you a decent price for your ipad..they are still a much sought after product

... C'MON!!... I think after show this gadget on public... Apple must to realise that external camera, that bad answer of Julian about: buy the iPad 2... obviously is hard to sell the iPad 1 'cause everyone has the iPad 2 now... for people who have an iPad 1 could be cool to have some kind of "actualization"...

Apple need to think about release this "would be nice to have one" gadget.

This is a really silly statement... There is nothing "so much better" about the iPad 2. Just like the 4s, the iPad 2 was a bit of a dud product (not innovative at all, despite what apple says about ALL their products.) There will be a lot of really big features in the both the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5, though! Save your money, and buy those when they come out early this year (as someone else mentioned, this is all predictable so wait to purchase things based on the cycles!) Look for key features like the screen resolution, camera megapixel count, flash/no flash etc. As far as the iPad 2 is concerned, I own an iPad 1 and never have I thought to myself "I wish I had a camera", thus save for 2 games I've encountered (requires iPad2) there is no limitation to having an iPad 1 over the 2 save for the camera. Clearly you were looking for this feature, so I get that you want a 2, but others WILL buy your iPad 1 as most do not need the camera

No, as far as I know nobody has made a webcam that is compatible with the first gen iPad - and I would guess that it's probably unlikely that anybody now will.
