ipod video can't restore

My iPod Video is completely stuck. When I try to restore it, it tries tot do it several times but it doesn't change a thing. The restore procedure is not working (I see it's installing, and iTunes says it has restored the iPod to the original fabrical settings/firmware but when I restart the iPod I have to do it over and over again. Can someone please help me and tell me what to do? Putting the iPod in Disk Mode and erasing everything didn't work.
