Are you referring to the find your phone/iPad feature? If so, you can access that at Mobile me. http://me.com
If not, have you checked under the couch? Perhaps its on the coffee table under some magazines. 😉
Basically turned the house upside down can't seem to find it.
About the mobile me thing will do i have to set it up before i lost it? cause i havne't done so...
what i mean is am i able to set up mobile me and thus set up Find my iphone and track the ipad that way without having the device infront of me?
Afraid not. Horses, stable doors, shutting after....
You would have to have set up the Find My iPad feature on the iPad before you lost it. If you did not, there's no way to track it.
Regards.
damnit thanks anyways. i'mma go turn the house over a couple more times
You not only have to set up "mobile me" while your iPad is in your possession, but you also have to install an app called "Find iPhone" (also works for the iPod Touch and the iPad) on your iPad.
Once you've lost your iPad it's too late for all of that.

This is incorrect. The app does not need to be installed on the iPad.
You simply need to sign into MobileMe on the iPad.
-> How to set up Find My iPad.
You can then log into your MobileMe account from a computer or another device (iPad/iPod/iPhone using the FindMyiPad app) to find the iPad.
That's interesting, because when I followed the procedure to set up "mobile me" I was instructed to install the "Find iPhone" app on my iPad.
The app allows you to find one iOS device from another iOS device, but it is not required. You can do the find and other functions from the MobileMe web site.

OK, thanks, I understand now that this app is optional.
I thought at the time that its installation was part of the "mobile me" procedure.

One more thing to try. If it is still 'on', not muted, and you didn't change preferences, sending an email to the linked account should play the 'chime' sound, and MIGHT help you locate it in a quiet environment.
