im new to mac and i want to delete things that i already have on my sd card on my computer, but i cant find the button delete anywhere? how do i delete things on my mac? and how can i format my sd card on my mac?

Try Disk Utility. It comes installed on the Mac.
Deleting things from an SD card is no different than any other volume.
In Finder:
Click to select the item,
then
right-click (or control-click), select "Move to Trash".
or
drag to Trashcan.
or
click on delete icon in Toolbar (in delete icon isn't in the Finder window Toolbar, click on "Finder/View/Customize Toolbar.../Drag Delete to the toolbar".
orhold down Command and press the delete key.
or
click on "Finder/File/Move to Trash"
Or you can use Disk Utility as PhillipDuran suggests to format the card.
