hey Stu

how bad is it?
haven't tried it myself but if the artifacting isn't too bad you might try using something like the CHV Clone and Paint plugin to fix it ( http://www.chv-plugins.com/collclonepaint.html )

edit: another thought ... was the artifacting introduced by the Avid or is it from source ? just thinking it might be easier to redig to the Avid as uncompressed or maybe direct to FCP

... and welcome to the forum!

cheers

Hi, Andy. Nice to see you on the web. You still in HK? 😉

Thanks for the welcome.

To answer your ?? - The Avid file was digitized at 1:1 uncompressed 8 bit PAL and then exported as avid meridien uncompressed. the file had no artifacts on digitize but did so after export. So the Avid did introduce the motion aritfacts. I think I will try redig to FCP. See what happens. Gotta book the FCPs is the only trouble.

Thanks for the plugins link. looks very interesting. Bookmarked already. Looking forward to FCP Extreme? 10k US is a bit of a dent in the wallet, though.

Regards, Stuart
