Is there a compact flash card reader I can use with the camera connection kit?
I am a new Ipad 2 user and amateur nature photographer. I shoot with a DSLR using compact flash (I don't want to switch to another media, as I've invested a bit of $$ into my media already), and I have purchased the camera connection kit hoping to be able to use my Ipad in the field to review/backup my day's shooting. But I've run into a problem...using the USB device and a card reader, I get the error message, "device requires too much power". I did some research on-line and found dozens of discussion groups on this very same issue. I even purchased a new card reader that had worked for another user until recently. From what I have been able to discern, the issue is caused by a software instruction in the Ipad that limits the output power of the USB connector.
Two things:
1. Is there a compact flash reader that I can use with my Ipad? I don't download directly from my camera in the field (battery conservation and not wanting to lose pics should the transfer be interrupted, etc.).
2. Will Apple be addressing the power issue in future updates in order to allow users to use card readers with their Ipads? FYI--there is an outfit out of China that has a connection kit almost identical to the Apple version, and it works with compact flash readers--it is being recommended by many users as a work around. I have not bought that one, as I'm hoping Apple will fix the issue here (and not lose further sales).
Thanks for any help you all can give.
