how can you repair permissions on a NAS drive please?

Hi I have a Buffalo Linkstation Live NAS. I want to repair permissions on it in case it has any problems I'm having accessing the full list of folders on my PS3. I have opened Disk Utility, but the NAS doesnt show up in the list (it is connected as is listed in Finder)

Can this be done? If so how please?

There are two reasons why this doesn't work.

First, repairing permissions only applies to bootable volumes, and only to Mac OS files, not to files that you create.

Second, you can only repair permissions on locally attached disks, not on network disks.
