lost old printer with SL upgrade, do you know any CHEAP HP printer for SL?

What do you mean 'lost' if you're having connection/operation issues why not fix that rather than pony up for yet another HP. What printer got 'lost'

You could get your existing printer going again at no cost by downgrading back to where you were before, presumably Leopard. I make one bootable clone immediately before a major upgrade and keep it unaltered for about a month to make sure everything is working. I have to be specially careful to check that my printer works because officially it is not Mac-compatible at all (Samsung ML-1610). Some very clever advice on some forum told me using driver for ML-1710 was the answer. Don't think that driver can be found anywhere anymore so I have to be careful.

Try the open-source Gutenprint driver - it may well accomodate your printer. You can download it from this link:
