    same problem.

    had itunes for years have old account (Apple ID A) with itouch. wife got a iphone 5 setup new itunes account (Apple ID B) and cloud. Never used cloud before she got her iphone

     

    ok, but if I delete the icloud account, will not all the apps and songs be deleted from her account?

     

    what if I just uninstall the apps that need updated that show the Apple ID A and reinstall the apps making sure we are logged into Apple ID B?

    Hi all,

     

    I had a similar problem when I swapped my iPad2 32gb with my dads iPad 2 64gb. Even though my apple id details were in iTunes Store settings ,every time I wanted to install or update an app from AppStore it would ask me for my dads password to his apple id. Signed out and in with my id many times from the settings but AppStore wanted my dads ID details and there seemed no way to change this.

     

    But hooray I found a way.

     

    1.I signed out of my ID in iTunes Store settings.

     

    2. Then went to AppStore and tried to install a free app.

     

    3. I get prompted with a message to sign in with an 'existing' ID or create a new one.

     

    4. Sign in with the ID you want on your device.

     

    That's all, never gave me a problem after that.

    It is easily solvable, even if not obvious.

    1. Open your AppStore desktop app

    2. Click the Store menue and signout

    3. Sign-in again with the right login and password

    this is worked for me, I had all same ID, but only updating was wrong ID;

    when try to update show wrong ID, delte the same  ITEM on your iphone, after delete the ITEM,

    go to search and down load again,

    Go to the below tab called featured then scroll down till you see an apple ID click it and then change it.

    I tried to UPDATE one app with no success (asks me the password of my sister's email), and then I tried to UPDATE another app and it worked, it didn't even ask me for password.

     

     

     

    Meaning that the first app I tried to update was (somehow) downloaded with my sister's email.

    go to itunes apps tab then check that app the right click the get info then check then id from which it had been  email downloaded

    what im gonna do is go purchase a samsung galaxy tablet my wife and kids have them and alll they do is press install and thats it i dont know why apple has to make it so difficult to download a free app

    My phone was doing the same thing when I would try to update some apps. It would prompt me for my finances apple ID password. Yet to download new apps or update others it wouldn't ask for an password at all. This was my super easy fix... Delete the app that won't let you update it. Then download it again from scratch. It worked for me. Good luck!

    try n delete the application that ure trying to update as someone else may have downloaded that app for u. once u delete the applications, start afresh by downloading it with ure own apple id which is registerd in the app store. Any application that has been downloaded via someone else, u need to delete n download again.

    Pretty sure that annfrombath (who you relsonded to & who last posted 2.5 years ago here) cannot delete any accounts .
