Keep getting logged out repeatedly

Yes, it's happening to a lot of us, and is now rather annoying.

Hi All,

Can you please post the details behind how / what were you doing when you found out you got logged out?

For example: I was typing up a post in Using Apple Support Communities on Safari 5.0.4, went to make some dinner for 30 mins, came back and finished my post but was logged out when I tried to post.

The more details the better!

sometimes I get logged out for no known reason. but then sometimes even after I have closed Firefox and shut down my computer and restart it, I am still logged in, which never used to happen. Must be some new glitch?

Put the iMac to sleep, came back an hour or so later, woke the iMac and I was logged out.

Every time it went to sleep, I had to log in again.

I'll add another wrinkle (hasn't happened today, but did yesterday constantly):

after clicking on "login", get completely blank page (no error, no strange cookie, just nothing) - if I then chose one of my bookmarks (any community), it would show correctly.

Safari 5.0.5 on iMac 7,1 in Mac OS X 10.6.6 - log in, read several posts, answer some, do other things in Safari, come back & have to log in again.

The only time I've been logged out is when I've gone and done something else for awhile. I have no idea the time involved, but it looks like automatic logout is happening to me after a period of time away from the site.

Check email for a second, Come back, go to my stuff bookmark. I'm logged out.

I never log out of AD.

I expect to be logged if whenever I quit Safari. Which I do every night, when I'm shutting down for the night.

So I expect to log in every morning. But now it's 10-12 times a day. Tonight, the Mac went idle during dinner.

Did not log out. But I am.

I was logged in at 8:00pm. Left the computer as it was to watch American Idol. Just came back. thought I was logged in. Hit refresh on Firefox 4.0.1 and I was logged out. Just logged back in. I think the last place I had been was on this forum, having just responded to a thread about animations in posts. Before this all started (maybe a few days ago) I logged in in the mornings and came back and forth throughout the day until I closed my browser for the night. I sometimes shut the mac down but now always.

Started this post at 21:49:50, then decided to watch the Dallas - OKC game for a little while until dinner was served (pan-broiled pork chops, endive salad with toasted pecans, Danish bleu cheese and pear in a coriander vinaigrette); walked my dog, had a smoke on the stoop with the pooch while playing a game of solitaire on my iPhone (won), then came back here at 23:13:41 to see what happens (copying my post to the clipboard before pressing Add Reply)...

Safari 5.0.5 on OS X 10.6.7. I will be logged in while reading some threads. Then I will do other things in Safari and elsewhere while leaving Apple Discussions open in a tab. Normally, I would remain logged in as long as I did not quit Safari. But I now get logged out after an hour or two and have to sign in again. This seemed to start a day or two ago.
