Issues with Aperture Folders in External LIbrary

I'm seeing an interesting issue with folders in an external library. Here's the chain of events:

1) From the Main Library on the internal drive, export a project as a library, to a temp folder on the external drive.

2) Switch Libraries to the Aperture Library located on the external drive.

3) Import the project/library into the External Library, selecting Merge when asked. Also tell it to use the imported library to decide conflicts when asked.

4) Check the External Library, everything is fine.

5) Switch back to the Main Library.

6) Switch back to the External Library, see that the folder structure has disappeared (three levels of folders, approx 20-25 at third level, each with 1-10 projects

7) Exiting Library, then Rebuilding Library, brings everything back.

Not at all sure about why this behavior happens, but hopefully someone here has some ideas.

Thanks,

David

On further investigation on the machine where the problem was originally found, Kirby's suggestion does not solve the problem. I created two aliases for the two libraries, put them in a folder on the dock, and used that to change libraries, quitting between each library change. The result was identical to what I had posted at the beginning of this thread.

Anyone have any further ideas about what might be causing this?
