Trackpad clean up

Hi people, On the new MBP what's your take on the oily/greasy look after only a few days old? Is that just a factor of life you have to live with or do you people clean it with something, that won't affect the performance of the pad? It's more visible from side on, when you look at it, and yes clean hands too, before you ask!

It has that round the edges look that are a different tone to the main centre of the pad.

off topic... any idea why new emails won't 'ping' even thought i've changed sounds, and it's ticked to play in prefs

Your trackpad is glass, and you can use glass cleaner on it, though Apple will never say so. Under NO circumstances should you ever spray any liquid directly onto any part of your computer, but a little glass cleaner sprayed onto a paper towel will do a good job on the trackpad. Be sure the towel is only damp, never moist enough for any liquid to squeeze out of it along the edges of the trackpad.

Over time, the central part of the trackpad will become somewhat polished by constant usage. That won't clean off.
