How do I turn off proxy with 2008 Black Macbook? I am using a wireless connection as well. Anyone ?????

frederic's post is correct.


If you are in the habit of moving your MacBook between networks, then it might be more convenient to use System Preferences > Network to set up a second "location" - one with the proxies and one without.


Go to System Preferences > Network, select Airport from the list down the left, then click on the Location combo box and select Edit Locations. Select your current location from the list, click on the gearwheel (next to plus and minus) and Duplicate Location. You may now use the Advanced button to edit each location. Put your proxies in one location, and remove them from the other.


To quickly change between locations, go to the Apple menu > Location > your chosen location
