Go back to FCS 2.0?

I have just about had it with FCS 3.0.

I can't even do what should be a simple edit because I can't seperate subclips from the master clips. The answer to this issue was "Make independant clip" but appearently the only option I could find to do that in FCP7 was "remove subclip limits" or something like that.

Having solved that problem (maybe) I now can't get the browser window to display items correctly. There is some invisible cutoff point beyond when nothing can be seen.

if I can't see things in the browser windows, then what hope is there of doing anything as complicated as a movie?

So, never mind my gripes. Has anyone found that going back to FCS 2.0 is a good idea? I did my first music video in FCS 2.0 and I didn't have any of these issues.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

My first thought is that you really need to spend a little time learning the application. Your knowledge seems fragmentary and misinformed.

Subclips are master clips. That's why you can rename them.

Independent clips are not in the browser only in a sequence. You can make clips in a sequence independent from the master clips they come from.

The browser problem has nothing to do with FCP 7. It goes back to v1. Try collapsing bins or opening bins in a new tab or window. Closing and reopening the project will also sometimes clear this problem.
