This happens when I switch apps from a non-audio one to one which is capable of audio output and hit "play".

 

If I had to guess it's from the OS turning on the audio hardware.

 

It's **** of annoying and uncomfortable though, it could even damage my headphones (not to mention my ears).

 

Any way to fix it? Maybe force the hardware to permanent-on (assuming it safe)? How much power could the audio hardware possibly use?
