Has anybody managed to get the new nano working under linux?

I don't understand why Apple hasn't released a linux version of iTunes either!

I have a an older nano that works fine. I use banshee, but all of the "in-linux" solutions on that page work for the old 4g nano, but not the new 6g nano.

I little more investigation seems to show that the linux developers have gotten stuck by a new hashing algorithm used in the new 6g version. There is a library called libgpod that all of the linux programs that talk to ipods share. Apparently libgpod needs this new algorithm.

It seems like VirtualBox or dual booting and running itunes under windows are the only options right now. This is not really great since I currently have all my music for my old nano under banshee.

Sadly it seems like I wait until someone can fix libgpod unless the apple developers are willing to help.
