How much does it cost to replace my ipod's cracked screen? (2nd generation)

Apple will not do a repair on your specific unit. They have a flat charge for which they will replace the iPod. You can find pricing here:

But if the iPod is in pieces, they probably will refuse service. Put the iPod back together and take it to an Apple Store. Otherwise, you can look for third-party repair services who might be less expensive.

My son recently left his 2nd gen. out all night in the rain storm. Needless to say, we tried to dry it out with rice. That didn't work. It won't do anything. I'll called apple store in des moines and they said that they have an out of warranty replacement program. For $99 they will swap his broken one for a refurbished 2nd gen. You can also buy a refurbished fourth gen. for $199 plus or minus a couple of bucks. All their refurbs. come with a one year warranty. so next week when we are in des moines, we are going to the store to swap out. if you're going to the store, make sure you call and make an appointment at the genius bar, otherwise you'll wait for hours.

I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen...went to the Apple store and they replaced it for free. I think they do that for your "first offense" so to speak:). Typically it is $99 otherwise. Don't make an appointment though, just go.

This was super helpful, but what if I don't live anywhere near an apple store? Do you think I could maybe send it in and have it fixed without it costing an incredible amount of money?

I went in and got it fixed for free under a year long warranty, but usually it will cost $99.99.🙂

Go to a local Apple store if you have a one year warranty, if not, it is usually $99

my Ipod brook the glass and the lcd screecn damage would they fix that
