Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My itunes won't let me in. I keep getting the message. The folder itunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder. Can any body help or is this a Genius appointment.

Is your library on your internal drive or an external?
If it's on your internal, navigate to the iTunes music folder in finder, Get Info and make sure you have read and write permissions. If not, click the lock, type admin password and change it. Then click the Gear symbol and apply to all enclosed items.
let's start with this:
check if you have read & write permissions for your music folder. in the finder, right-click on it and get info. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and apply to enclosed items like so
the important part is to apply to enclosed items !
I don't get the option Apply to enclosed items!!!!

Yes I clicked it but it just offers revert changes
so, do you keep your library locally or an external HD ?
It's all on the computer we don't have an external HD
launch disk utility (in applications > utilities) and repair permissions on your boot drive. then re-boot your machine.
Tried that and unfortunately still the same
try the suggestions in this article.
