1. Capacity: Like all other memory storage specs, the capacity is rated in terms of "decimal" bytes where 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Thus 32 GB = 32,000,000,000 bytes However, all computers function on binary math where 1 KB = 1024 bytes, 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1 GB = 1024 MB

So... the 32,000,000,000 byte rating of your 32 "GB" phone is only 29.8 real, binary GB! Additional loss comes from overhead such as formatting and the iOS. 29.1 GB capacity is the same as my iPhone.

2. Available: This is the free memory left after everything taken up by all your apps, music, media, data, settings, etc. are deducted. The more you add to the phone, the less is available.

Yes, the capacity will remain the same, (though it may change slightly with different iOS versions), and availability decreases the more you add to the phone (and increases if you delete stuff).

ALL storage devices are rated and marketed by the decimal method and ignore formatting overhead - all hard disks, RAM, thumb drives, etc. - by ALL manufacturers. Bigger numbers sell better than the truth....
