My iPhone 2G's wi-fi is stuffing up.
It says its connected to the wi-fi network (wireless), it has the icon to show, but when I try to open an internet required app it says its not connected.
I have absolutely no clue why its doing this.

Your router is not giving your iPhone a valid LAN IP address. In addition to the trouble shooting information in TS1398 sometimes simply restarting your router by removing power to the router for 30 seconds can fix this problem.
Probably what's going on is that your iPhone IS getting a wifi signal... but that doesn't mean you're connected to the Internet. That is, your router (Linksys or Airport, whatever) has been disconnected from the net and is now sending out an "empty" wifi signal.
Restart the router and see if that does it.
iPhone wi-fi says it's connected, but isn't.
