My dashboard widget has escaped

...and the cheeky ******* has now settled in the midst of my other desktop items with no options of being removed. I've even restarted several times and it still persists. How can I fix this madness?! 😮

You should still be able to drag it around, right? If so, start dragging it, then hit F12 (or whatever you've got the keystroke for Dashboard set to) while still dragging. When the Dashboard appears, drop it where you want it. Or just put it somewhere temporarily so you can close it.

If that doesn't work, try entering the following in the Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode NO
