9.1.4 Sync Issue
Hi
Has anyone else noticed virtual synth sync problems in 9.1.4? I have retuned to 9.1.3 because ES2 was not syncing LFO properly to track time.

I was just about to post something about this! I've been experiencing the same problem and it is rather frustrating.
Does anyone have any ideas about this?
Nazgo- how can I return to the 9.1.3 version?
Hi Parkec4,
Unless you have Time Machine or a manual backup, you will have to re-install (I use Time Machine).
I did look to fix the problem in 9.1.4, but there were no settings in ES2 that could compensate. Funning thing was, if I copied and then pasted synth settings (top right of VI window) or re-selected the synth while a track was playing, it would snap back into sync. When I restarted the track, sync was out again.
I don't have this problem with the same track in 9.1.3, so would suggest a bug in the upgrade that effects ES2.

Yeah I have tried every setting in the ES2 that would possibly help and nothing is of aid. Where can I find the 9.1.3 update after I reinstall logic?
I've got the same issue here too! I don't have a good copy of 9.1.3, so I found a bit of a workaround. If you automate a waveform change of the LFO, it will sync...they really need to fix this because this is really annoying and not really a good way of using the product....ughh.
OH that's interesting I'll have to try that. Yes this definitely necessitates fixing. I hope they'll put out an update that covers that soon!
yeah....it's not the most efficient way of doing it...because as soon as you stop cycling, and go to another region...if you don't place a quick automation in front of it, it won't be in sync...it's like you have in initiate it before you cycle through the region....sooooo annoying!
Definitely seems to be a bug in 9.1.4... 😟
I set up a 16th note LFO-synced patch in 9.1.4, and the sync is appalling - unusable.
Loaded that same project into 9.0.2 (to test), and the ES2 sync is perfect.
Not seeing this at all in 9.1.4. I tried creating a simple ES2 patch with the LFO beating on 1/4 notes. It is beating perfectly even after changing to several tempos.
What exactly does it sound like? is the LFO pattern running at a different tempo than logic's tempo or is the timing totally erratic?
Right, for some reason it works perfectly for me as well with 1/4 notes but when I change to 1/16 it does not. I'm also running the loop rate at 1/16d. Previousley in logic (before 9.1.4) this worked fine and the arpeggiation matched exactly with the tempo of the project.
Now, it seems as if it is a bit too slow, and sometimes it seems too fast. It's so subtle I'm not really sure if I can pinpoint what exactly it is, but when I try to correct the problem by dragging the actual midi region a hair to the left or right, it gets even more off so I really don't know what's going on here.
Right, this doesn't just seem to be with ES2 either...I first noticed this bug on a channel w/an EVOC filterbank insert, set to 16th note LFO sync...could this be a native logic LFO issue?
I just tried an EVOC synth and an ES1 synth both with LFOs on 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 and they worked fine. So I don't think it could be a native LFO glitch. I've written apple feedback on the 9.1.4 update regarding this ES2 error and I think you all should do the same. The more people that apple hears this from the more likely they will adress the issue in the next update. 🙂

Simple bounce, ES2 with 16th note tempo-synced filter LFO mod.

Sounds good and tight.
The same project opened and played back in 9.1.4:-

Horrible...
And if you think that's bad, get a load of this. Same patch, just changed the LFO to 1/4 notes. You'll love this:-

Thanks for making the samples. I understand what happened now. I It takes 1 measure for the glitch to occur, then the glitch itself is that the phase of the LFO inverts so what was up was down, etc. hmm..
@Logic Expert- yes the LFO does invert but not only that, the arpeggiation pulse seems to stray offbeat, so disappointing.
I have the same issue with the ES2, for example using the Reanimation gated patch. the first bar sounds in sync, then is a total mess... i had this patch on a previous song i was working on in 9.1.3. which it used to sound ok, i open logic 9.0.2 and it sounds fine there.
back in logic 9.1.4, i bounced the first two bars of a four bar loop to see what was going on with the syncing, I found that when the second bar starts, the ES2 adds a 32th ghost note to the 16th gated rhythm. so it lags everything a 32th note.
the next pic shows what i mean, here are two bars , starting the second bar i colored in purple the ghost note that lags the rest if delete that 32th ghost note, the rhythm is back in sync.
