FCE 4.0.1 crashes on startup

I'd posted a question earlier about LiveType crashing on start up. I finally got it to work, but now FCE crashes.

I have become so frustrated at the time involved, that in my most recent attempt, I only tried to install the FCE software.

My most recent attempt went as follows:

From the Library, I deleted any Final Cut and/or LiveType .plist file

Ran FCS Remover, emptied the trash and restarted.

Installed FCE 3 and DEselected Apple Soundtrack and DEselected LiveType

Restarted computer

Installed FCE 4 and DEselected LiveType

Restarted computer

Updated to FCE 4.0.1

Restarted Computer

Tried to start FCE from Applications and immediately crashed.

Below is the Crash Report

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. I've spent most of today waiting during the reinstallation process.

Thanks in advance and any help/suggestions.

Gary

Thanks Tom,

I also got a response informing me that the version of LiveType that was included with FCE 3 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.6.7.

Now that I've downloaded the Plugin Manager, I will run FCS Remover, reinstall FCE 3 (deselecting LiveType), reinstall FCE 4, then update the software to 4.0.1.

Is that the correct order?

Also, I repaired permissions yesterday, but I'm wondering if that is again necessary?

Thanks again, Tom. You've been helpful once again.

I ran the Plugins Manager Tom suggested and then installed FCE 4 (which was an upgrade from FCE 3, although I didn't load FCE 3 this time), updated the software, but it crashed again. In the crash report it noted the following:

Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX

Referenced from: /Applications/Final Cut Express.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Express

Reason: image not found

Any other suggestions? I appreciate you trying to assist me.
