What's the best Mini DP (Thunderbolt) to HDMI adapter to use with my new (5-2011) 15" MacBook pro ?
Moshi, Griffin, Kanex iAdapt V2, Belkin, NewerTech, Syba, Monopriceor what ?
Any limitations on video or audio quality, or warnings regarding poor quality or reliability ?
What video resolution can I expect ?
I cannot find any professional reviews from Google. Are any available ?

Thunderbolt and HDMI are standards. If a cable meets the standard it will work. Some manufacturers charge more for their cables saying they are better. IMHO it is a scam. If a cable meets the standard it will work. There are not levels of meeting the standard, just the standard.
That said, some cables may have better physical end connections or better sheathing thereby allowing the cable to better withstand abuse or provide a longer life. But as far as performance, as long as the cable meets the standard it will perform as well as any other cable.
Yes Thunderbolt and HDMI are standards, but these are adaptors, not just cables.
These adaptors this must convert Thunderbolt's display port protocol mode into HDMI. Frequency and signal conversion will be required, so electronic components need be used. This implies there will be differences in performance, quality and reliability.
Buy Apple adaptors, they are well made & standards compliant.
That's incorrect, connector adaptors (which these are) simply connect the right wire to the right pin, converters have active components inside them which do the conversion, they may also incorporate a connector adaptor, but not always.
I'd buy an Apple designed & manufactured one if they made one... but they don't
Ahh, you're right, I did not realise that the one for sale in the Aple Store was not manufactured under the Apple brand, it's a Moshi.
Still I'd buy it.
DP must be "converted" to HDMI, so I don't think this is a simple adaptor. (unless the the MBP's thunderbolt IC can be signaled to do this conversion, but I don't see any info that implies this ability).
MDP is a connector standard.
HDMI over MDP is already a standard, the conversion happens outside the cable, Google it
i have an older kanex (which has a mini DP, usb, and optical audio in), moshi, and a newertech adapters. the kanex works fine on the 2011 15" mbp. the moshi and the newertech do NOT work. when i plug the newertech (macsales) in, the screen goes blue for a second (as if it's trying to detect an external monitor) and no go. moshi is even worse... nothing.
i don't understand why the older kanex works and the newer audio pass through moshi and macales-brand ones don't.
I've used the Moshi between an MBP and Toshiba TV sets (2 different ones) both worked, an LG also worked, Samsung had no audio and a Sony Bravia had no audio or video.
I suspect that this issue is not consistent
