You read carefully chapter #11 in Pages User Guide.

In the English version it means pages 243…249 so I can't resume them here.


PS: it would be a good idea to update from 10.4.6 to 10.4.11

May I repeat that 10.4.6 isn't a valid Operating System version to use iWork '09 ?


So, if the OP is really using this old version it may explain the described behavior.

Difficult to guess that you didn't did the required tasks without applying the directions given in the User Guide.

There is no reason to assume that the MS Word requirements apply to iWork.
