taking training tests for my job over the internet on my g4 mac
I work for General Motors and they have training at gmtraining.com that I can take at home over the internet, I am unable to get the site to work; Ive changed browsers & sometimes it will work other times I cant get pages to load, or the site just freezes on one page and wont move to the next question etc. Ill get error messages that I dont have the right plugin then cant find the plugin. I get paid for these tests and it would be nice not hassling it. Help!
There is a notice there that says "The system is undergoing scheduled maintenance beginning 9:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2006 to 5:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2006 (EST).", so it is possible that that is the reason why you cannot do anything at the site at this time.

HI Rich
Yes that part comes up; the log-in, but then problems arise after, as I move through the site. I dont know what to do,really, I never saw a maintenance notice come up. I will try again later, maybe that was it. Thank you!
Right now (4:50 pm PST on Thursday) I tried the site and am asked for a user id and password. So, the maintenance is not being done now. However, I of course cannot proceed further.
If you are able to log in but are having some problems, you might try a different browser. Some web sites do not work properly in all browsers.
If you still have problems, I suggest that you try to contact someone associated with the website who could help. At the minimum, I would expect that the site has a webmaster that you could email.
Hi Rich
I will do that, contact the webmaster. Is it possible that only a PC is able to utilize this site? As much as I love my MAC I know there are limitations or incompatabilies inherent in these 2 systems. And yes Ive tried firefox, explorer, safari, but not netscape, Ill try; thanks again, Melanie
I don't really know the answer to that, but now that you pose the question, I am wondering if the site has some files for which require a plug-in or two. And if that is the case, it might be that files are really aimed at PC people. I am thinking in particular of video clips, which might be part of the training.
I think your contacting the webmaster is the best bet.
HI Rich
Contacted webmaster, it is a site indeed aimed at PC users and that is that. I can take these tests at work I just would rather do it at home. Again, thank you very much, your feedback was greatly appreciated.
