Nov 8, 2013 11:34 PM in response to nana911911by Lightwala,This worked for me! Although I am pretty sure that I had set my encryption password differently, using the first passcode I had used for this device worked!

Nov 16, 2013 1:22 AM in response to buckeye89by joelPT,Ok, I was shocked to see I had set a password to my backups and after trying dozens of possible passwords I realized that it was the password of the computer where I am, but not the latest updated password, one that I had set about 1 year ago... strange...
Either way: my recommendation is to try ALL passwords that you used before to access to your computer's session where your iTunes is installed in (mine was an iMac).
Good luck to all

Dec 30, 2013 3:13 AM in response to shourok adelby Blomquist,Hello. I too was prompted for a password I never typed when I wanted to
transfer data from my Iphone 4 to my Iphone 5S.
I made a new backup to the wifes Imac into Itunes.
After this I plugged the new Iphone in and was again prompted for a password I never typed.
I was very unhappy at this stage. Every password I could remember ever to have used had been tried.
I then typed in the four digits that I use for unlocking my Iphone4.
It worked.

Dec 30, 2013 1:44 PM in response to Blomquistby mgmurphy122,I had the same problems and typed in every possible 4 digit numbered paswword I could think I had ever used to lock my iPhone. I was about to give up and decided to try all of my apple ID passwords (1 capital letter, 1 lower case, 1 number) and finally with many different guesses, one of those passwords from what seemed like forever ago worked!
I'm thinking there was a glitch because I had never used the password to actually lock my phone before.
Hope that may help for some of y'all! Good luck!
