cannot install configuration profiles using iphone configuration utility, why?

I have now solved this, with a little assistance. You need to make sure that each setting is configured for each section that has a payload configured. So if you've looked in each section and not closed it after it may say "1 payload configured" but you may not have anything configured and this is the issue. Click on the minus sign to remove the configuration. Once i had done this it load successfully.

I have the same problem. After creating profile with only General tab being set up it is failing to install on my iPad.

Profile installation failed

The profile could not be added to device

Any suggestions?

I even erase all content and setting but that didn't help either.

The only alarming thing is that in my Certificate section I have red message:

"This certificate was signed by and untrusted issuer"

Can that effect installation?

If that is the case how to fixed it?

P.S. iPad was purchased from Apple Store.

I finally got mine to work! There were "red arrows" in the Email Payload section.

Under the tabs... Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail- I simply entered the the hostname for both,

voila! It worked. I must have overlooked the "error messages".

Can you be more specific with the errors you're having? Are you receiving an actual error message? Or inactivity on the computer/device all together?

I'm having this very same issue ... please can you tell me how and where you delete the file com.apple.iphoneconfigurationutility.plist?

Same problem here. Tried several different iPads, some out of the box, some not, some with iOS5, others with 4, etc.

Where is this file located? com.apple.iPhoneConfigurationUtility.plist
