Will Apple fix my cracked ipod screen?

Hey, my iPod fell just the other day, leaving one side of it cracked. I still have a few months left on my warranty, so is it possible for Apple to repair my screen?

Thanks 🙂

who knows if apple will delete this comment: I've never commented on here before today but I just have to. I went into the apple store (wellington, Florida, USA) and asked them about replacing the shattered touchscreen on my ipod touch 4G. they said it was $99 +tax, but because my ipod was "relatively new" and hadn't had any issues before, they would offer me this one repair FOR FREE. I figured they were going to keep my device to replace the screen but once I waited for the genius bar appointment they made for me the girl who helped me checked their stock and brought out a "refurbished" device which to be honest looks like it's brand new.

I originally was going to swap the glass out myself (purchase on ebay), which is a service i've done to an iPhone 3GS with no problem...until I found out that this newest gen. (4G) ipod touch, the screen (glass/digitizer) is somehow fused/glued directly to the LCD screen so it's really difficult to replace only the glass on this generation

So....definitely go into apple store...might not want to mention that you dropped it, just show them the device. worth a shot. i definitely did not expect it to go this way.

I would not get your hopes up for something free from apple - my iPod cracked yesterday and i took it in - i was charged 199 to replace the unit (iPod4 64GB) - and it is supposed to be new -but after reloading my backup and syncing everything - several sets of podcasts do not play correctly - and the battery is deficient. I was told that this was a completely new unit and not refurbished - so for $199 i am unhappy - plus they kept the old one that they can refurbish and sell themselves.

i will have to take another trip to the apple store (which is not at all convenient) to see if they will get the iPod to work as it did before - the unit just cracked- it still worked fine - but the only option i was offered was to take away what i had and replace it with something that does not work as well.
