I-Movie Version 9.0.2 project problem

I just bought a Macbook pro and have been editing a lot of videos using I-movie. It has been working great until just yesterday.

I start the program and all my projects are gone, the edit project icon is grey, and there is no click to drop rectangles in the upper left grid. I try to create a new project and It will not let me, and when i try again the program freezes. I can still import video into the program but i cannot start a new project and my past projects don't seem to be getting recognized by the program. I tried logging on to a different user and the Imovie works as usual on my other username which leads me to believe this problem could be easily fixed. Can anyone tell me what happened to my imovie on this username and how I can fix it?
