Unable to download app on my iPad 2 today

I just tried downloading a free app from the App Store on my Ipad 2 today and it prompted me for my password which I entered. It then showed the app on the home screen as "waiting..." and it promptly vanished. I tried again (was prompted for my password again) and got the same results. I noticed I had two pending updates (though they show as "free" instead of "update") so I did an Update All. Again I was prompted for my password, which I entered and it switched the to Home screen with the two apps showing as "Waiting..." and then suddenly they reverted back to the way they were. Nothing is downloading on my iPad 2 at all. It is taking my password, but it's not activating or something.

I tried on my iPhone 3GS and it worked without any issue.

I know there was some store problems last night, but I updated an app this morning on my iPad 2 without an issue. I'm also noticing that I can't turn on genius recommendations for apps. It just keeps asking me for my password over and over agian.

Anyone else having issues currently?

iPad 2, Other OS, iOS 4.3.2

Try Settings > Store. Sign out and sign back in.

If still a problem, try syncing with iTunes on your comptuer.

I logged out, now it's saying cannot log in to itunes store. :(

The same exact thing jus happened to my ipad2 as well! Going to try to sync hopefully it works!

Same problem on the Italian store. I logged out but I can't log in anymore. It doesn't say anything... I enter my user ID and password, no errors but the screen refreshes with the "enter/log in" button.

Same problem. was downloading fine a few hours ago but now it says waiting and vanishes. Tried login in and out same thing.

Im having the exact same problem -- i went to settings on my ipad and went to store and signed out. When I tried to sign back in it said "cannot connect to the iTunes store". I synced my iPad with my computer and nothing....anyone having any luck or found a solution?

Well I can't log into iTunes either now I get a "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" error. According to Engadget, something is wrong.

I hope it's something that can be fixed quickly. Or maybe they are putting in updates for iCloud or something?

sync didn't work. Still can't log in through settings, and when app download initiates (or update), it asks for my password, goes to the desktop, then nothing happens. Tried reboot, no difference. I wonder if it's a glitch on itunes' end?
