Time lapse, pictures matching frame rate, i.e. 24 pictures per sec.

It seems that iMovie only supports stills down to 0.1s, but this is 10fps, I need to get the fps matching the images, whats the best way to do this?

I could in theory make a movie with 0.1s pictures, then export, then import / speed up to 240%, but that seems a little stupid, surly imovie supports the ability to edit on a per frame basis, this is bound to introduce artifacting in the movie......

thanks in advance.,
