I vehemently disagree.. as an IPhone user I feel I would get added functionality if I could place
calls using an Ipad. This would truly benefit travellers and corporate types who want to have
an integrated experience for all their needs in one thin book-sized unit.
Think about it... pair your headset with your Ipad, and be able to collaborate in real-time while
working on documents, etc. This is futuristic stuff that Apple could have included in the
IPad, but didn't... most likely the Ipad chipset does possess the functionality but they
clipped it in software, or pared it down to data-only.
To say nitpasfromsingapore is the only one who wants it is simply incorrect. I wished
Apple would include the feature. With the Ipad 2, still no go. Why do I have to rely
on Skype ? The fact Skype exists for Ipads and Ipods for the purpose of Voip calling
means that enough demand is there that perhaps they should have included native
phone capability (apart from data) in the product.
