Just because you put in a SIM into your iPad doesn't mean it can make calls, the SIM is just to access the 3G internet data. We do not know if Apple will implement phone calling into their iPad 3G versions, but it is unlikely due to the clunkiness of it.

You can however, FaceTime people, which is essentially video calling someone who has an iPod Touch, iPhone 4, or iPad 2.

why shouldent we had that impression that it was a phone ? only because it is big in size ? or it is a IPAD not IPHONE ? or we cannot put a SIM card in it ? Or if a SIM can can carry DATA on it then it takes secs for a Telecomprovider to also transfer VOICE on it ?

SO can u give me one reason for not having an impression that we can also maek calls ?

Let me put it this way, since the iPad1 was released, you're the first person I've seen on this forum that thought the iPad could/should make calls. Obviously, the everyone else understands that it cannot.

Also, nowhere in the specs of the iPad are phone capabilities mentioned. And none of the thousands of posts and blogs mention that capability either, since it's not there and no one expects it to be.
