Which is a Good Thing, as it means the shiny new bauble will be protected by extended warranty for 3 years.
It probably has to do with the shipping. However why not contact the invoice sender and ask them what their codes represent?
Portable, battery operated computers like these are subject to tremendous G-forces just by being carried about. in my opinion, one should not even consider owning a portable computer (that you expect to move about) without the Applecare coverage.
