An unknown error occurred (40)

I tried to restore my iPod touch 3g MC model to its original settings and this stopped me.. 😟 don´t you know what should I do?

(-restore from 4.1)

iPod touch, iOS 4.1

Error 40: This error may indicate a hardware issue with your device, but it is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with a known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate this issue to the device. TheMAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue.

Both options... but when i try to restore iPod it´s self the icon of "Apple cable and connection to iTunes" appears... Yes it was jailbroken device

EDIT: And in iTunes this message appeared while restoring... ( An unknown error occurred (40) )

Did you try and restore from the iPod it's self? or did you Try via iTunes. Did ya Jail break your Device?
