Import of photos into iphoto mediathek from DVD

I have made some back-ups of iphotos via the "burn" function available in iphoto. All information has been transfered properly to the disks. Now I just want to re-import the photos from the disk into iphoto. The import does work, however I would like to have the same "events"-structure (which is on the DVD) back in my iphoto. Unfortunately as I said all photos are imported back to iphoto but iphoto creates new "events" (e.g. it splits certain events from the disk and creates new once in iphoto). I want a 1 to one import of my events. Can anyone figure out what kind of problem I am facing here?

(using i photo 11 vers. 9.1.3)
