13" Macbook Charger Flashing Orange & Green

Last night for the first time I noticed my laptop doing this and it wont turn on, it just flashes white for a second or two like it usually does and then powers off. Wont work with the battery in or out.

Any help would be appreciated

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Ive tried this to no avail and PRAM reset. Screen flashes white for a second and then nothing, although when I then take out the power cable it makes the sound it makes when it usually shuts down. It has bootcamp dual boot installed if any help.

Oddly the charger goes a solid green without battery but flashes again when battery is installed

My Macbook Pro 13" suddenly went off about an hour ago while I was doing some work and I noticed the dim green light. A couple of minutes later the light starts flickering between orange and green. The battery was fully charged before it switched off. At first I thought because it was on my bed it was over heating or something but after reading a couple of forums I'm guessing it could be a number of problems so I'm more confused than I was at first. It still hasn't come back on with or without the charger. The laptop shows no form of activity (no blinking lights to show it's asleep, I can't even check the little battery meter on the side). I've tried holding the power button for as long as I can. Nothing! I've only had this laptop for a yr plus. This is just the worst timing ever because I have to hand-in my dissertation tomorrow. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP. Pls ANYONE????
